Kwahiatonhk!

Contemporary Indigenous fiction, with Eden Robinson, Drew Hayden Taylor and Isabelle Picard

00:43:10

This discussion was recorded live in Quebec City at the Maison de la littérature on November 15, 2024.

How does the Contemporary indigenous fiction explore and illuminate Indigenous cultures, sustain and expand Indigenous story and history, and offer glimpses to Indigenous futures? Why do so many contemporary Indigenous novels burst through the usual boundaries of genre in fiction? What role does hope play in the work of writing?

This activity was co-presented by Kwahiatonhk! and the Maison de la littérature as part of the 13th Salon du livre des Premières Nations (First Nations Bookfair), brought to you by TELUS. Produced by Kwahiatonhk!, the 2024 edition was made possible thanks to the financial support of the following partners: CN, Innergex Renewable Energy, OHWIHSTA’, Hydro-Québec, Caisse Desjardins de Wendake, OKT Law, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Government of Canada, the Government of Québec, SODEC, the City of Québec and Wendake.
